From now through July 31, 2014, when you convert 20,000 Starpoints to American Airlines AAdvantage miles you’ll earn a 20% bonus. Usually you would earn 25,000 AAdvantage miles on a 20,000 Starpoint transfer, now with this offer, you’ll earn 30,000 AAdvantage points.
One can transfer up to 79,999 of their Starpoints per transaction per program within a 24-hour period to the American Airlines AAdvantage program. Though, in order to maximize this promo, you won’t want to transfer more than 60,000 per 24 hour period, which with the current promo, will transfer to 90,0000 American Airline AAdvantage miles.
Note that the extra 20% bonus (5,000 points per 20,000) will not initially show when making the point transfer, as this bonus is provided by American Airlines.
Also note that Starwood hotel points do not transfer instantly to American Airlines and can take up to a week for the transfer to post.
You can also pick up an easy 40,000 USAirways miles, which come 2015 will convert into AAdvantage miles, with the US Airways Premier World MasterCard.
